Óâàæàåìûå êîëëåãè,
Íàøè àìåðèêàíñêèå êîëëåãè - ó÷àñòíèêè êîíôåðåíöèè â Ðîñòîâå ïðîâîäÿò îïðîñ ñðåäè ðîññèéñêèõ ïðåïîäàâàòåëåé ïî ðåçóëüòàòàì êîíôåðåíöèè. Ðåçóëüòàòàìè àíàëèçà ãîòîâû ïîäåëèòüñÿ ñ íàìè. Íåò íóæäû ïîä÷åðêèâàòü, ÷òî äëÿ íàøåé ñëåäóþùåé êîíôåðåíöèè ÐÊÀ ýòî áóäåò âåñüìà ïîëåçíàÿ feedback.

Dear colleagues

As you may be know, Kate Thedwall and I are working on putting together a collection of stories from conference participants about their experiences working with faculty from other countries in preparation for a presentation here in the U.S.

We have gotten a number of responses from Russian students and American professors; however we only have ONE response from a Russian professor. If you would be willing to take a few minutes to respond to our questions below, we would GREATLY appreciate it. You may be as honest as you like; your identity will be protected in the final project.

Also, if you know of any professors personally who you could encourage to respond, we think it would make our project a more accurate depiction of the Conference experience. Of course, we would be willing to share this project with the RCA and the Institute.

  1. Give your overall impressions of attending the Russian Communication Conference. What story do you tell the most from your experiences?
  2. What were your impressions of American professors before the conference?
  3. Did that impression change after the conference?
  4. How would you define communication?
  5. In your opinion, how is that definition different from the U.S. definition?
  6. In your opinion, how is the Russian classroom different from the U.S. classroom?
  7. Has anything changed in your classroom or research since you've met the American conference participants?
  8. Beyond the language barrier, what were some of the challenges you faced in working with the American conference participants?
  9. What are your opinions about working with and learning from people from other cultures?
  10. Have your opinions about working with people from other cultures changed? If so, how?
