A man can enlarge his Way; but there is no Way that can enlarge a man.

The prevailing tendency in modern Communication Studies is the search for break-through solutions in human development, the analysis of new possibilities in the formation of human consciousness and social behaviour. The success of one person or a social institution is impossible without the strategic development and improvement of the communication process, in which an individual or a community act as its participants. The aim of the biannual Russian Communication Association (RCA) International Conference held together with our partners is to combine the efforts of scholars from different countries, fields of study, research centres and schools of thought for the further multiparadigm development of Communication Studies.

The international partners and information sponsors of the conference are the Eurasian Communication Association of North America (ECANA), the National Communication Association (NCA), the International Communication Association (ICA), the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the Polish Communication Association (Polskie Towarzystwo Komunikacji Spolecznej, PTKS), the International Federation of Communication Associations (IFCA), the World Complexity Science Academy (WCSA), the Russian Association for Film and Media Education, and the Kazakhstan Communication Association.

Pushkin Leningrad State University was founded in 1992. In 1999 it was named after the famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin to mark the institution’s outstanding achievements in the field of education. The University is a major educational and scientific centre in the North-West of Russia. It is situated in the world-known suburb of St. Petersburg – the town of Pushkin (former Tsarskoye Selo), famous for the summer residences of the Russian tsars, landscape parks and architectural monuments, the Emperors’ Tsarskoselsky Lyceum and other monuments of Russian history and culture. The participants of the conference will have a chance to visit those places of interest. The accommodation will be provided in the hotel/hostel “Tsarskoe Selo Campus,” as well as at other Pushkin hotels at reasonable prices. The university is situated within easy reach from St. Petersburg, as well as the airports “Pulkovo-1” and “Pulkovo-2”. The closeness to the places of interest, shops, etc. will make your stay interesting and comfortable.

Working languages – Russian, English.

Any interested scholar may submit to, register for, and attend the RCA conference. Participation presupposes the attendance of the conference with a publication in a volume of submitted papers. Submissions are done electronically with the use of the online form, which includes a paper abstract and information about the author. At the end of the form it is necessary to indicate the type of registration, sightseeing program and dates of stay. All the papers will be peer-reviewed. Selected papers will be distributed between plenary sessions, paper and round-table sessions. The collection of paper abstracts will be published in electronic form. Papers based on the most significant presentations can be published in the Russian Journal of Communication and/or special issues of our partners’ journals. Another available option is participation without presenting a paper.
